12th April 2017: Machines Room

We had a fantastic evening with Johannes Lohbihler, founder of dadamachines, a Berlin-based studio making music machines accessible to everyone. They are ran a Kickstarter campaign for their first product automat toolkit which was 600% funded by the time of the showcase. Amazing work! Check out their Kickstarter video:

Johannes brought down several of his kits for people to try out, plus we had some brand new instruments especially created for the automat by Vulpestruments and a new composition for the set up by Dom Aversano. There were also a bunch of instruments hacked on the night itself from all the excellent bits and pieces scattered about Machines Room.

 

Overall a fantastic event with plenty of hacking, music and hanging out. If you missed out, and still want to have a go on one of the kits, we’ll be bringing one along to the next Hackoustic Presents for you to try out!
