A day of live music, interactive installations, workshops and talks all focussed around innovative and exciting new ways to make music and sound. Genre neutral, experimental, interactive and welcoming, come and build some instruments, take part in innovative audience interactive performances and try out some of the amazing instruments and machines that our artists, musicians and engineers have built.

Installations and performances are running all day long!

Noisy Pom-Pom Workshop:  11:00 - 13:00:

In this 2-hour workshop, we will craft with electronic textiles to make an electronic musical instrument, played by squeezing pompoms!

We will explore ideas in DIY electronics and experimental music making, to learn how we can craft and make sound with electronic circuits, creating a fun and playful new musical instrument to perform with. Each participant will make their own unique pompom musical instrument to take away with them.

Sam Topley is a sound artist and educator from Leicester (England, UK). She works with textiles to create handmade electronic musical instruments and interactive sound art, including giant pompom musical instruments, knitted or 'yarnbombed' loudspeakers and 'craftivist' musical instruments with e-textile interfaces.
